Stayslit

Can my company see if I’m faking my Slack status?

A status indicator isn’t hidden data, and it isn’t the only thing your employer can look at. Here is an honest answer.

What colleagues see

Everyone in the workspace sees the active or away indicator. Stayslit only changes that indicator.

What admins may see

Workspace owners and admins can open member analytics by default, and the metrics depend on your plan. Those numbers come from how you use Slack, for example what you post, not from the green dot.

What Stayslit can’t do

  • It doesn’t send messages or fake activity.
  • It doesn’t hide anything from your admins.
  • It can’t make you look like you worked when you didn’t.

Our advice

Use it for what it is for: keeping your availability aligned with the hours you really work. If your company forbids this kind of tool, don’t use it. You are responsible for following your employer’s rules.

Questions

Does Stayslit leave a trace in Slack?

Your sessions are part of your account’s normal activity and may be visible to workspace admins, like any signed-in client. We can’t promise it is invisible, and we don’t try to hide it.

Close the laptop. Keep the green dot.

Set it up once in about two minutes and Stayslit takes care of the rest, every working day.
