Stayslit

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Write to us — see Contact.

Does it work with my computer off?

Yes. Stayslit runs on our servers, so your computer can be off, asleep or in your bag.

Does Stayslit read my messages?

No. It only keeps your presence (the green dot). It never reads, sends or deletes messages, channels or files.

Will it work with Microsoft Teams?

Not yet. Teams support is on the way; today Stayslit works with Slack.

What happens outside my hours?

Stayslit requests Active during your hours and Away outside them, even with Slack open on another device. Manual changes take priority until they expire or you return to schedule.

What if I set myself as “away”?

Stayslit respects it: if you manually set “away” in Slack, it won’t override you.

How does the free trial work?

You get 7 days free with every feature, no card needed. It starts when you connect your first workspace. When it ends, Stayslit pauses and keeps your settings until you subscribe.

How do I cancel?

From the app: Settings → Plan → Manage subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Is my Slack session safe?

It’s stored encrypted with AES-256 and only used to keep your presence. You can disconnect it at any time and it’s deleted.

What if my Slack session expires?

Stayslit notices, pauses and sends you an alert so you can reconnect in a minute. It usually happens only every few months or when you sign out of Slack everywhere.

Is it allowed at my job?

It depends on your company. Stayslit is a tool; whether to use it is your decision and your responsibility. Check your employer’s policies and Slack’s terms.

Close the laptop. Keep the green dot.

Set it up once in about two minutes and Stayslit takes care of the rest, every working day.
