Stayslit

How it works

Slack shows you as active while one of your devices is connected. Stayslit is that device: a connection kept open from our servers, only during your hours.

  1. Create your account

Sign up with your email. Your 7-day free trial starts when you connect your first workspace — no card needed.

  2. Connect your workspace

On a computer, install the Stayslit Chrome extension and click “Connect” while Slack is open in a tab. On any device, you can also paste your session manually by following the guide inside the app.

  3. Set your schedule

Choose days, start and end times, an optional lunch break and your time zone. Turn on vacation mode with an emoji if you like.

  4. Turn on alerts

Add Stayslit to your phone’s home screen and tap “Turn on alerts”. You’ll know right away if your Slack session expires.

  5. Forget about it

Stayslit connects at the start of your day, checks every two minutes that Slack sees you as active and disconnects at the end. You can pause or take a break from the app at any moment.

What happens behind the scenes

  • Your session is stored encrypted (AES-256) and is only used to keep your presence.
  • The connection is renewed regularly and checked against Slack, so it doesn’t silently fade.
  • If you manually set yourself as “away” in Slack, Stayslit respects it.
  • If Slack ends your session (for example, when you sign out everywhere), Stayslit pauses and asks you to reconnect.

Your day. Your rhythm.

Common setup questions

Does it work with my computer off?

Yes. Stayslit runs on our servers, so your computer can be off, asleep or in your bag.

What if my Slack session expires?

Stayslit notices, pauses and sends you an alert so you can reconnect in a minute. It usually happens only every few months or when you sign out of Slack everywhere.

What if I set myself as “away”?

Stayslit respects it: if you manually set “away” in Slack, it won’t override you.

Is my Slack session safe?

It’s stored encrypted with AES-256 and only used to keep your presence. You can disconnect it at any time and it’s deleted.

Close the laptop. Keep the green dot.

Set it up once in about two minutes and Stayslit takes care of the rest, every working day.
