Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
Draft: this policy will be reviewed by a lawyer before charging customers.
What data we store
Email, optional name, password (only its hash), your schedules and settings, a history of presence events, devices with an open session (browser type and IP) and, if you turn on alerts, your device’s subscription. For each connected workspace: its session credentials (encrypted) and its name.
What we don’t do
We don’t read your messages, channels or files. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
Why we use it
To keep your presence on schedule, alert you if something fails, protect your account (for example, detecting access attempts) and improve the service (error reports, without sensitive data).
Who we share it with
Only with providers needed to run the service: our hosting provider, the payment provider (who handles your card; we never see it), and Apple or Google’s notification services when you turn on alerts. None of them receives your Slack credentials.
Free trial records
To prevent abuse of the free trial we keep an anonymous, irreversible record (a hash) that a trial was used for a workspace or email. It contains no readable data and is kept after the account is deleted.
Chrome extension
The Stayslit Chrome extension only acts when you click it and only on slack.com and Stayslit. When you press “Connect workspace” it reads, for the workspace you choose, its name, address and session token (from the Slack tab) and the Slack login cookie, and sends them over HTTPS to your own Stayslit account, where they are stored encrypted. It never reads your messages, channels or files, does not track your browsing, has no analytics or ads, and does not sell or share this data. It keeps nothing else except your language choice in the browser. Use of the information received complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Disconnecting the workspace in Stayslit deletes those credentials.
Your rights
You can see and correct your profile, download a copy of your data, disconnect a workspace (its credentials are deleted) and delete your account with all its data. The presence history is deleted automatically after 60 days.
